Grand Theft Auto V Challenges You

Video games lovers are in for a big treat with the entry of Grand Theft Auto V which is to be released mid September. This is the very first time that it is being introduced into the Grand Theft Series. Rockstar North created the game and used the services of Rockstar games to publicize it. Anyone who played the previous series will agree that Grand Theft Auto V leaves you both thrilled and challenged. It also allows the player to use their creative side in order to successfully conclude each mission.

About the game

Grand Theft Auto V is among the video games with a dramatic tension and action feel. It allows the player to use various arms and forms of transportation in ensuring that the mission does not backfire. The arms available are guns and explosives which should be used to deter the enemy from following or hindering the player from accomplishing their mission. There are many other options including swimming and jumping which come in handy if the player finds themselves in dangerous situations. For faster movement motorbikes and cars are used.

The game involves three people (Trevor, Michael and Franklin) who are using their diverse skills to rob in order to get rich. Although at the beginning of the game it may not appear as though they are working together, the three operate as a team and towards the end of the game this will be more visible. Video games are about using what has been given to get what has not been provided. In Grand Theft Auto V the player is forced to use the specific skills possessed by the three to come out victorious.

Remember, each of them has eight different skills which the player should make use of when faced with certain challenges. For instance, while Trevor is a pilot, Michael is a good shooter and Franklin is a great driver with the ability to slow down time to their advantage. Not only is Trevor a good pilot but he is also able to cause hell on his enemies.

Like any other video games there are illegalities which come with penalties when it comes to this game. In the event that you commit any illegal acts authoritative forces will come after you. If you keep failing to follow law and order you will see several stars which are an indication that what you are doing is wrong. For you to save your neck the best thing will be to get out of the area where you are being looked for. Anyone who has played the previous games will find this one both interesting and involving.

Grand Theft Auto IV Review

Few game franchises are as recognized and as successful as the Grand Theft Auto series. Ever since Grand Theft Auto 3 was released for the PlayStation 2, Rockstar has changed the face of gaming. Grand Theft Auto is a game that is synonymous with both controversy and fun. Rockstar proved itself to be capable of releasing hit after hit, which was shown after they released Vice City and San Andreas games that took Grand Theft Auto 3 and added so much more content. After selling more than 20 million copies of the Grand Theft Auto games, when GTA IV was announced for release in 2008, there was much excitement. Even now, years after it has been released, Grand Theft Auto IV is one of the best games for the PlayStation 3.

Graphics, Sound and Setting:

Grand Theft Auto IV returns to Liberty City, the place where GTA3 took place. Liberty City is based on New York City, and as soon as you start playing the game, it's evident that Rockstar really made the effort to make the city as realistic as possible. There are many places in the game that look almost exactly like New York City, and the game has a great authentic environment. Even a few years after the game was released, it's still one of the best games for immersing you in a truly interactive setting. The sound quality in GTA IV is alright, there are a variety of sounds you can hear. The gun sounds are realistic, and the voice acting is solid. I would've enjoyed more music, because unless you put on a radio station there isn't very much music in GTA IV.

The game's story is centered around Nike Bellic, a former soldier from Eastern Europe, who comes to the United States to achieve the "American dream". Niko's cousin Roman has come to the United States earlier, and he tells Niko stories of wealth, woman, and success. This inspires Niko to come, but when he arrives he finds out things aren't quite as they seem

The story in GTA IV is much deeper than it was in the previous games. You can genuinely feel the emotion of Niko when he goes through hard times. The characters are much more three dimensional and realistic. The cut scenes perfectly mix humor and story together. There are also plenty of plot twists and turns to keep you entertained and guessing. The story is definitely GTA IV's strongest attribute. However, the story also can feel different from the other games at times. Where the other games used lots of humor, GTA IV is more serious in comparison. However, that's not to say there aren't any funny moments in this game. In fact, like other Grand Theft Auto games, there are a ton of moments that will have you cracking up. GTA has a great collection of interesting and unique characters.

Controls and Gameplay:

The controls in GTA IV are, for the most part, the same as the ones in the previous games. You can press triangle and steal a car, you have the ability to jump over ledges and climb things. You can punch and take out weapons and aim and fire them. However, GTA IV introduces some new elements into the mix.
The biggest change is the cover system. In GTA IV you have the ability to take cover behind objects. This is both useful and annoying. The cover system can make firefights feel more realistic and adds strategy to what would otherwise just be shoot, run, shoot. But the problem is taking cover in places where you don't want to. Many times in the game, I ended up taking cover right next to the enemies. I feel that the cover system is a great addition, but Rockstar could have done so much more with it.

The game uses the same mission system as the previous games. Basically, within the city there are people that assign missions that you can complete. These missions give you access to something new, such as a new safehouse. However, they mainly serve to progress the story. GTA IV is a wide open game, where you can choose to spend your time doing missions or you can just go out and cause chaos. You can literally do anything you want in this game, it's extremely fun to just steal a car and go cruising down the streets at times. The gameplay can get bland at times, the missions start to become repetitive sometimes. I understand Rockstar needed some filler missions to fill in gaps in the story, but killing person A, or escorting item x from point a to point b can become repetitive. Overall, though the gameplay is impressive and holds the standard quality of the other Grand Theft Auto games well.

Rent or Buy? Final Thoughts:

Grand Theft Auto IV is still an amazing game even years after it was released. The dynamic environment, gripping story, and exciting gameplay all make this a game that's well worth the $20 it costs nowadays. Overall, I'd highly recommend buying this game, and I give it a 8/10.

Grand Theft Auto V

Let start at the beginning, the very beginning... When it all began... I'm talking about the moment you first put your GTA V disc in your favorite gaming console and impatiently waited to get your hands on fast cars, guns and all the money a variable can hold.

Unlike some other gamers who probably jumped right into multi-player to get their kill on along with their hoodlum buddies. I took the time to stop and savor just about every sweet surprise this epic game had to offer. Even though I completed single player at 78% completed it still felt like I had played forever and could keep playing single player for a long time and still not find or do everything meant for my enjoyment in this gigantic Rock Star created world.

GTA V - If you're like me and played Grand Theft Auto since the beginning (The original top down GTA) then I'm betting you can truly appreciate the direction Rock Star chose to go with these games. GTA is meant to be a brutal free roam, kill at your own pace type of open sandbox game that most people think is over the top and takes itself to serious.

Trust me, the only way GTA V is serious is if you make it serious. If you take the time to even as much as drive somewhere other then the main street you will find a plethora of detail upon detail inside this game. From the sound of broken glass being stepped on created by the window you just broke attempting to steal a faster car to the cashier behind the counter remembering your face from the last time you stopped in to rob a store and make a few quick bucks, there's a lot of detail here and I am very happy that they chose to give this game more tricks then it's predecessors with an exception to San Andreas.

The police in Grand Theft Auto V have been finely tuned and turned into robust, thinking killing machines, perhaps they're a little to serious about their jobs though? you normally can get cops chasing you from the normal day to day criminal activity, robbing, killing but this time around they know how to stop you and will use just about any means to try and ruin your day.

In previous games the police were vigilant but still seemed to lack the ability to think in a "hide mind" and took a more direct charge in head first method in attempts to destroy you but this time around cops will take cover, call for backup, try to drag a wounded fellow officer to cover and even take the wheel when you shoot out the driver in a squad car, police in GTA V are more then vigilant, they're down right brutal, ruthless and self-centered.

The fun doesn't stop there!
Innocent Pedestrians love their cars to but if you go jacking cars like they're candy in a Halloween free for all you will find some very gun happy citizens taking the law into their own hands. and gun you down also if other armed citizens see you commit a crime they may get ballsy and attempt to kill you on the spot also. As a matter of fact you really have to watch out for everyone in GTA just as much as they have to watch out for you and your murderous ways.

You will easily find yourself thinking you're on the verge of outrunning the police cruisers and helicopters only to find out other law abiding citizens want you dead as well and swerve their vehicle into your car and try to ram you off the road so the entourage of police can fill you to the brim with bullets.

Luckily you do have a barrage of weapons at your disposal to help you on your trip to the top, everything from pistols to shotguns to mini-guns and from broken bottles to bats to sticky bombs there are so many ways to take out large groups of people in so many ways that every kill can seem just as fresh as the last. Just remember the cops have big guns to and they will use them at the blink of an eye.

The whole world feels alive and aware of your presence, there's mountains, rivers, lakes, multiple airports, forests, boat docks, secret cults, submarines ocean floors to explore and more each with it's own levels of depth. Don't expect to see anything that makes you think "Why did Rock* put this here?". Everything seems to have meaning in this game.

Property in GTA V can be purchased all over the place. Theaters, airports, boat docks clubs and more can be purchased and some of these properties even earn revenue to get you some extra money. Certain properties even have their own missions for you to complete. Most of these are typical A to B delivery but it really just adds yet another layer onto this game.

Just about everything you can buy in the world is accessible via your in-game smart phone's web browser, see a car you like on Legendary Motorsport? Select a color you like and if you got the cash submit an online order for it. Your new ride will be delivered to your garage shortly after. Some other vehicles you can purchase are boats, helicopters, military vehicles and tanks, just remember, they cost money.

Speaking of the web in this game... Rock Star really fleshed out the in-game online experience, you'll find all kinds of websites to purchase things from, get information about specific locations and even a social network (Life Invader) where you have your own profile and can view other people's profile.

For instance, if you see some chump in a nice car stopped at a stop light and you feel like racing just pull up along side them and rev up your engine, given they aren't a spineless wimp they should accept your challenge to an impromptu race.

Game does have it's drawbacks but these are easily overlooked or forgotten once you get into the nitty-gritty guts of the game and see how well this master piece was pieced together. Most the cons I have are superficial but I'll list a few of them here.

1.The world is to damn big at times

When I'm not killing, robbing or running from my certain doom I find that I may want to do something leisurely like take my submarine out for a spin, sure I could just take a taxi and I usually do to cut down on time.

The world being so big isn't a bad thing however since driving across the world to my favorite dock can seem like a whole new experience. I just find that if I chose to drive I easily get distracted quite easily by all the seemingly attractions that litter the world here.

2.Cops are BRUTALLY ruthless

This also isn't really a con but I find myself in botched robbery attempts all the time. My robbery can be going great and I can be so close to my escape route that I can feel my salvation from 5 stars in sight only to have a police squad car pull a pit maneuver on me then get swarmed by up to 5 police cars, blocked in and shot to a gruesome death before I can even decide which weapon I'd like to die holding.
In the end this really adds to the fun factor and is only be a nuisance if I forgot to prepare ahead of time for any kind of altercation with the law and if you learn from your mistakes you can usually avoid any major altercations with the cops.

3.Everything is so expensive!

Like I mentioned before there are many properties to buy here, many expensive things. property can easily cost $200,000 and more, vehicles can cost even more especially for the high-end cars and military vehicles.
I normally have little patience for things like this in games but here I felt like money has meaning, unfortunately you don't get very much from robbing poor chumps and holding up convenience stores though there are ways to make up to $1,000,000 by doing some of the side quests. Heists definitely help your bankroll but usually leave you with just enough money to buy 1 new big toy.

This once again is easily overlooked for me since there's so much affordable stuff to buy and or steal that saving up the money to purchase the high-end things in life that you could life without but once you buy them you easily have them at your disposal.

Final conclusion

There's so much more GTA V has to offer that can't be covered since you have to experience it for yourself and every encounter with the game never plays out the same. No other sandbox game really tops the hog nasty rich experience of Grand Theft Auto V.

All in all on a score of 1 to 10, 1 being the worst game ever and 10 being the best game ever I could easily give Grand Theft Auto a 9 out of 10 score.

There are some things found in other GTA games that if added to GTA V would have given it a perfect score (Jetpack anyone?) and some things I would have just liked to see like the RC planes from San Andreas but things like that are trivial when you see just see how much interaction is really packed into this game.
